Okay so I have this weird problem. When my iPhone X (iOS 11.1) is connected to my car's bluetooth and my airpods together, the audio on phone calls seems to cut out every second or half second and come back on. Music is fine. I have to disable my car's bluetooth for the problem to resolve. This issue did not occur on my iPhone 7. Any suggestions on what I can do to solve this? I already repaired the airpods to the phone.

You’re not the only one.
I have an appt with a Genius tomorrow. Getting the AirPods swapped and see if that does anything.
Maybe the FW update screwed things up.
Anyone know how to NOT have them update?

Maybe some interference going on.

I was thinking it might be something wrong with the phone. But looks like It’s not the phone. Phew.

Yeah let me know...it most likely is a software issue I'm thinking.

I experience something similar with the 8 plus. The call gets distorted. Music is fine. Once I turn car Bluetooth off all is fine. I first noticed it on 11.03.
Didn’t have it with the 7 plus.

Maybe something to do with Bluetooth 5.0?

It's a real possibility...bluetooth 5.0 is brand new and might require Apple to release some fix...have you guys tried the 11.2 beta and see if you are getting the same issue?

So I got my AirPods replaced today.

Made a phone call where I normally get the distortion issue. I think it was a little less because I had rebooted the phone prior.

I’m starting to think this isn’t a hardware Issue with either phone or AirPods, but’s rather asoftware issue that Apple needs to look at.
