hi there! I madly want to buy airpods (i guess its an early christmas gift)!im wodnering (and i guess an “old” user can help) ti what extent the fact that they are constantly charging in the case affects the battery life. Is it possible to be unable to use them lets say after 2 years of daily use because of damaged battery?

Charging in the case continually won't affect the batteries. They will top off at a certain percentage and hold the charge until the battery case depletes or requires recharging after using them again.

Here is a link from Apple that discusses lithium iON batteries and charging.

OP has a point. Lithium batteries don't like being stored at 100%. They will self-discharge (normal) and the case will keep topping off the charge after slight voltage drops. This is not ideal. That said if you're using them regularly the batteries will probably primarily wear from actual usage.

For lithium ion battries they actually have a longer lifespan if you constantly charge them instead of charging only when it's empty. If you're gonna put them aside for months keeping it half charged would be better than fullly charge. Then again, in the grand scheme of things it's time that degrades the battery the most. So just use it anyway you like it. It doesn't really matter.

i guess the same logic applies to other wireless airpods like beats. Anyone with longterm experience? i mean i try to figure out if they worth the cost or in a year or so i will need new pair
