They are pretty good for logic pro projects with spacial audio / dolby atmos (7.1.4 etc)
I hope the next version has low latency for wireless logic pro. That means 5ms or less.

it has been rumored that Apple plans to update the AirPods Max within the next few years
Joe, again I would like to ask you to cite your sources, please.

In August, MR wrote the exact opposite:

Upgrade the chip to keep pace with AirPods Pro features—that’s a given.

But the real priorities should be reducing weight and making the headband user-repairable. Right now, $300 for a headband mesh replacement is absurd and makes no sense as a value proposition.

Tells you something when even my local Costco stocks every AirPods model except the Max. LOL

Personally, I think they are going to upgrade the AirPods in the next few years too.
Don't ask me how I know, I just know.......

I noticed that the MacRumors Buyer's Guide lists AirPods Max as "neutral." Is it a good purchase now?

Bose 700 out-Apple’d Apple on physical design, aesthetics, and included extras. Apple needs to poach that team and put them to work on APM2.

From rumors, Apple thinks AirPods Max doesn’t sell well—yet there are still plenty of people buying them.

It’s totally possible Apple releases the update on schedule once they kick off development. Or it could end up like Vision Pro, where they never actually solve the weight issue.

One thing to keep in mind: if you’re lying on a couch, the seal will break and you’ll get noise leakage with AirPods Max. That’s just the reality of AirPods Max in that position.

I tried many headphones. I find the max first gen the best for my use case. My airpods pro don't stay in my ears. And I had bose, sennheiser, sony ... they all have their own flaws. My max pairs seamless with my apple devices, has great audio quality for the entertainment in this digital age, I pop them in and out of my bag all the time no damage so far, no condensation problem so far, and the only headphones that block my collegues voices. I'd buy this product again in a heartbeat.
Just my experience.

Think audio quality improvements will be there for sure. Don't think there will be changes to battery life. Precision finding will be a nice feature to have. Would like to see some new colors.
