I was looking to buy Apple's Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable (1.2m), so that i can connect my AirPods Max to the on board entertainment, as AirPods Max is listed as compatible with the cable on the Apple website.

Before I buy as the cable is quite pricy, does anyone know if this does indeed work?

Just make sure you charge them before your flight. Even with that cable they still require power.

Another option is a bluetooth transmitter/receiver. The standard is the AirFly system but this is around the same price as that cable. The other option is a Ugreen system that is much cheaper. These systems also need charging, but only you can decide whether cable-free is a better option that bluetooth.

I’ve had the cable now so that’ll do me - I’m not too bothered about it being cable free tbh as I’ll only be using it on the plane. Thanks for those options too!
