I’ve had the AirPods Max (USB-C) for almost a year now and I was pretty happy with them then a few months ago random connection issues appeared that have been more prominent recently. I thought it was a software issue that would be fixed in a future firmware update… but today I’ve found the solution no update required!
It happens that each of the AirPods Max head cushion design have reversible fitting but it shouldn’t!! And I had the L cushion upside down so the hole for the head detection was covered while the right one was just right. Just placing the left cushion in its correct position and cleaning the dust out of the sensor made the trick.
No more daily random disconnections that wouldn’t connect back to my devices until force resetting them.
I hope you find this information useful.
If Apple had a software way to notify the user they had misplaced the cushion this could be easily avoided!!
