AirPods Max cushions deep cleaning

I don’t know if they can be saved. My dad is elderly and let’s just say, cushions very stained stinky. So, bad I had an extra brand new set for myself from Apple I gave them to him. I wanted to know if the old ones can be saved or not. I gave them a cleaning under cold water with Gain laundry detergent. Even scrubbed them down with a new extra soft tooth brush from all the crud. I didn’t even want to touch them! Anyways, got them all dried out and they smell WORSE! What can I do if any thing to save them?

Throw them in the wash with your laundry. Use Lysol Laundry Sanitizer to kill any germs. Let them air dry for a long time until they are throughly dry. This is what I do and they come out just fine.
