AirPods Max Knocking Making a Mark?

Anyone who uses the Smart Case with their APM must notice the occasional knocking action and sound made by the two cans hitting each other (as it appears unavoidable).

Has anyone noticed that they eventually make a mark? Mine still seem fine after probably hundreds of knocks.

It's a definite bug bear for me so I'm careful to twist one cup when taking them out (which is awkward to do).

Nope. Mine never hits each other. I'm very careful with it when I put it in the case and taking it out.
