You should try checking out some high end headphones, if you think these are expensive. They are more than the Bose and Sony, but have more features Active EQ, spatial audio, .... Time will tell how they rate sonically. But some audiophile headphones are well over $1000.They're way too expensive! Come on Apple.
My thought exactly. let the Tirades begin, the rumors did not pan out to be true, must be Apple's fault, or - they were just rumors, after allSo basically Gurman got a rumor wrong and is spinning it as missing features.
"OverPriced"? For the best sounding smart speaker ever developed? If you are comparing them to google or Amazon audio pucks, well - not really the market, is it? The proper compare is the Google Home Max, which is not as versatile being only an old-fashion bookshelf design, but nonetheless, sounds good - oh, and is pricey!AirPods Max 2 will come in at 299. Just like what happened with the overpriced HomePod. Just wait.
haha. Thanks for your excellent product review. For $550 I think I'd wait for all those rumored features to be included but honestly to me they look like some cheap headphones I'd expect to see in Big Lots or Dollar Store...maybe I need to see an actual pair in store. Still won't buy them though
I like my Ikea Eneby speaker for 90$ more than the HomePod(yes I do think it sounds better). I personally never understood the price of the HomePod. Sure it sounds good for what it is. Id rather put together a home theatre system and that's the cost of a cheap center speaker for me."OverPriced"? For the best sounding smart speaker ever developed? It is not possible to simply compare one product in one market segment with a cheaper variety in another and say, oh, the price is too high.
How are they supposed to figure out which ear is your ****ing ear? We all have two ears, and that's a personal preference.Wait, you really telling me it doesn't have ****ing ear/neck detection?!?
Absent proof that any of these rumored claims were true, no, he did not correctly predict Apple would drop anything. It remains speculation only. He may have correctly predicted features which wouldn’t be included but that’s it.Amid these delays and frustrations, Bloomberg correctly predicted that Apple would drop the concept of a replaceable headband to accelerate production.
Again, not a fact, still simply speculation. After the announcement of AirPods Max earlier today, Mark Gurman mused on the fact that Apple had dropped a large number of features to get the product released at long last.

If it doesn't have ear detection thats laughable. Surely it pauses when you take them off right?
So then the AirPods Pro, iPhone Pro, MacBook “Pro” etc aren’t meant for the regular college kid or average person? 😂they are not meant for the average or the typical college kid. Just like their pro monitor. Im surprised half the people I see walking around with the 250$ in ear pro's when they sound like crap.
Yes, they do — it's on Apple's site.Wait, you really telling me it doesn't have ****ing ear/neck detection?!? The feature that literally any other headphone even the 50 dollar Chinese ones have...
WTAF
On-head detection
AirPods Max pause audio when you take them off, and resume playback when you put them back on. So you never miss a beat.
If they sound really good I will get them in the next Black Friday for $349, no need to hurry, currently I'm enjoying the Sennheiser true in ear wireless which sound fantastic.I'm glad they didn't go with the touch panels. I own the Sony MX1000 m4's and it is an incredible pain to use the touch feature to adjust volume. If you want to rapidly reduce/increase volume you end up swiping your finger like a mad man -- or you have to open the app to adjust. But, given the high price of these, I will wait for the reviews on sound quality to come out, or to try them in person. They'd better be good for $549.
well it has to deal with pricing really. With phones don't assume that people are paying full price for these phones. Same with the AirPods. There are sales and buy one get one deals on phones basically every year.So then the AirPods Pro, iPhone Pro, MacBook “Pro” etc aren’t meant for the regular college kid or average person? 😂
Pro stopped meaning Professional 11 years ago with the introduction of a MacBook “Pro” with integrated graphics. Guess the iPhone XS Max wasn’t made for the average consumer either or college kid.
I just got a pair myself and discovered that you can swipe up or down to adjust volume then hold your finger to increase/decrease to the desired volume then release. That makes it much less annoying.I'm glad they didn't go with the touch panels. I own the Sony MX1000 m4's and it is an incredible pain to use the touch feature to adjust volume. Sooo... which missing feature do you think is worth 150 pounds? Fashion headbands? To me it seems as though they are just charging what they originally planned but stripped half of the features out of them... these should have been £299 maximum, with this other features maybe £399-£449 maximum.
