Hi there-

I noticed that when I have my AirPods Max on, noise canceling or not, I can make a very slight reproducable click from tapping the lower right cup. This may be my neuroticism acting up, but I wanted to see if anyone can reproduce this.

The click sounds "metallic" and it is very brief.

Thank you!

Say again. You hear a sound when you tap the ear cup?
Yes- its reproducible on the right cup, at the base near the microphone vents. The slightest "lifting the cup from your ear" will cause a click that seems to be coming internally.

Sounds like the issue with the static/wind noise. I'm getting this in the right ear cup every now and then, sounds like wind in one of the mics. Tapping on it makes the issue sound louder. Disappointing.

Hmm I am almost wondering if it is normal? I know i had gone through 2 sets of AirPods Pros for a noise I was getting in the right ear and it ended up being consistent in both. Can you describe the sound you get in a bit more detail if possible? Trying to see if we are getting the same thing.

Its happened a few times on my set, sounds like there is winding going through the mics on the right side. Sounds slightly metallic. Then my right ear wasn’t outputting sound and the transparency mode wasn’t working either. I had to hard reset to get it to work again. Sounds like it could be a software issue. Annoyed considering how much these costs.

For sure... did you decide what you are going to do about it? I was thinking about setting up a replacement on it, but also placed a Best Buy order to see how fast that ships out.

I’m going to go to the Apple Store and test my luck. I hope it’s not a hardware issue and just software.
