I read yesterday that there is new firmware for AirPods. I followed the instructions here but after leaving them for 30 minutes, they were still not updated. What am I doing wrong please? Thank you.

The way it has worked for me is that I listen to something for 30 secs or so on the APP, and put them in the case. The case is plugged in already.

Yep. Use them as you normally would and keep them in the case which is plugged in via lightning cable.
Also your phone should be nearby.

when I tried previously they were charging and my phone was next to them, but even after half an hour, they weren’t updated.
