So the right AirPod pro I have is making a loud Hiss.

I undersand that this a known issue and there have a specific exchange in place if it was made before one date and less than 3 years old. I took it to Stormfront as it was nearby and they woundn't do it as didn't conform to the callback.

Should this be covered by UK statutory Consumer Rights?

I'll book an appointment with apple on the same day as I exchange my iPhone ( upgrade program ) and jsut want to be forearmed.

I had to buy AirPods Pro 2's as this happened a few days before I went on Holiday!

I took my Airpod Pros (bought in March 2020) to a U.K. Apple Store last week.

They confirmed:
1. They were not part of the batch being recalled
2. They were faulty
3. They would replace both Pods free of charge

  • Consumers who purchased Apple-branded or non-Apple-branded products at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store may be able to claim against Apple. Apple contact details are available here.

It's online and in store - it's a retailer thing so if it's curry or whatever they have to deal with it / manufacturer.
It is not online only but you have to deal with the retailer. So no problem if you bought directly from Apple. I have no experience of Argos or Amazon but good luck if you bought from John Lewis.

I agree with John Lewis. I had a LGTV that had a production fault - even had LG agreeing it was a production fault.

John Lewis has 5 year TV warranty - I was about 5 years and 3 months and they flatly refused to do anything about it despite consumer law saying 6 years for faults ( it's on the retailer to deal with it not the manufacturer )

I took the TV ( 65' B6 ) into the store. Carried it to the management offices entrance Right thought the store - Plugged it in on the floor and waited. An assistant manager came out and I dumped Consumer law with highlighted Pen of the right bits and email from LG stating it was a faulty manufactured device. She went away. Came back about 10 mins later and took me to the TV department, leaving the TV on the floor, had a few words with a salesman and was offered 3 different TVs and waked out with a brand new C165 :)

Sometimes it pays to showboat.

I phoned as it was the online store. They said no as it wasn't part of the batch... then I mentioned UK consumer law. Immediately passed to manager and he sorted. Sending a replacement box.

But, I may take them to Apple Kingston next Friday when I pick up my new phone and see if I can get an appointment instead.
