…i can’t leave home without my APP, but on my third replacement, Apple had enough time to fixed the issues - crackling, losing ANC, high pitch whistle, amplifying environment noise, deteriorating audio quality after months of use… hope this new one is much better, i prefer better sound quality and reliable, those case features i can live without.
Agreed. I have 3 APPs and had all 3 replaced once. Two of the replacements are crapping out. Apple is refusing to replace them, essentially wanting me to pay for a new set. Absolute junk. I bought some Sony earbuds for almost a third the price that sound just as good, last 10 hours(!), and are thus far holding up well.

Amplifying env noise is something both my APPs and my XM4s can do in the right circumstances. The big one I’ve noticed is Cicadas - my bet is that while it sounds like more or less constant stream of sound to the human ear it actually varies enough, and rapidly, in pitch/volume/periodicity/etc that the ANC algorithms (both Apple’s and Sony’s) struggle with it. Most of the time ANC works flawlessly, and even with things like cicadas loud at dusk if I’m listening to music it goes away.

Other than that havent had a single one of the probs you’ve mentioned, you seem to have gotten particularly bad luck, or your use cases are hard on the headphones and are absolutely obliterating them.

"Apple's accessibility feature Live Listen, which can help someone to hear a conversation in a noisy area or across a room. The case's microphone could take in sound and send it to the AirPods Pro that someone is wearing, making the sound easier to hear."

Sounds like a privacy nightmare waiting to happen. I could leave my airpods case in a room, leave and make other people in the room think they are speaking in privacy, then I could eavesdrop in to what they are saying on my airpods. Sure you can do that with an iPhone at the moment but it is a lot less conspicuous with an airpod case
You realize there are piles of dedicated hearing aids that already do this and are ludicrously common amongst the 60+ set, and that there are also directional mics that arent crazy expensive and can eavesdrop easily too, right? The privacy concern you’re talking about already exists, you just havent thought about it before

The vast majority of APP users dont have that issue, including me. If it was a product-wide defect they wouldny sell like hot cakes the way they do, it’s a little overblown here
Not a “product wide defect,” yet they made an entire repair program for the specific issue, and kept extending it because of all the repairs. And how many pages is the thread on macrumors regarding the defect?

But if you don’t have the problem, then clearly it’s overblown…

Damn, this is the first time I've heard of the Live Listen feature and it sounds like such a cool idea. So odd that it only works with those Beats headphones. On another note, I activated the Hearing Control to see if Live Listen worked with my AirPods Pro and in the Control, I discovered that there's a feature to have your iPhone make background sounds like rain or white noise etc. Wish I'd known about that before!

I’ve had a few issues with my AirPods Pro. I’d say it’s my worst experience with an Apple product. I think I’ve had an AirPod replaced 4 times in total. The ear tip kept coming off with the end of the AirPod attached to it. I got the ear tip stuck in my ear the first time it happened as well. It’s safe to say that they aren’t suitable for workouts, even though their latest adverts say they are.

Also, people say that my audio keeps dropping out when I talk to them. It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s annoying.

I almost got rid of them to purchase Bang & Olusfen ones, but I’ll give these APP2 a chance first.

i wear my APP daily...am already on a second pair...if the v.2 have the new BT tech in them, iʻm in

I hope, when you drop the case, the airpods don't shoot out and the lid snaps closed again. Already lost one pair to that.

Will the case be backward compatible with my APP? I love mine and don’t see the need to upgrade the full set.

My airpods pro are about 2.5 years old. They still work reasonably well. However I guess it's time for an upgrade. I will be interested to see what new feature they have.

AirPods Pro are one of the best but most frustrating Apple products.

They have a design flaw where ear wax and other materials get stuck in the ANC microphone, so it gets worse over time. This impacts every unit and always happens, some people clearly just don't notice it. It can be fixed with Bluetack.

The other issue is that they fall out, the original AirPods stayed in so well but the Pros just do not. Comply tips are a necessity especially for running.

I hope Apple fixes these flaws with version two.

Most people don’t know because they bought AirPods Pro after the 2C54 firmware came out and nuked the ANC. Apple never fixed it after this release.

I had AirPods Pro from day 1, and the ANC was worlds better prior to that firmware. I even had mine replaced under the service program when they failed Apple’s own test, and the replacements still weren’t as good because they came with a newer firmware.

It’s a real shame that there was never a full recall or class action to refund people who paid full price for AirPods Pro, then after the return period passed had one of the core features broken by a firmware update that you can’t decline or prevent from installing.

thank gawd for the lanyard hole, every Airpod case should be on a keychain or rope of some kind

It would be nice if they re-used that adorable little popout-button from the 5th gen iPod Touch, though
That was very cool, I also hope they add that in.
