I recently got AirPods Pro 2 with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) and updated to iOS 18 on my iPhone 14 Pro. The AirPods Pro 2 do not work with the new Head Gestures. When I turn on Head Gestures and then click "Try Head Gestures..." I am able to nod my head up and down and my phone gives me a green check and lets me continue. My side to side head movement is not recognized and I just have to cancel out once I'm tired of shaking my head over and over to no avail.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I reset the AirPods Pro 2 and then paired them again with my iphone but side to side head movement still isn't recognized in Head Gestures.

I do. For me, nothing works. In the "Try Out" dialogue, it just says greyed out. I literally nodded my head so much it felt like I'm getting a headache, but no dice. I'll try hard resetting them.

Go to Settings -> Go to siri and toggle on “Allow siri when locked” and turn on announce calls and notifications ! Hope it works.

Mine would do anything either. I found out the were connected to my iPad as well at the same time. Once I turn it off Bluetooth on the iPad they started working with the test option on the phone.
