I own a pair of APP 2 and the ‘Find My’ doesn’t work which is annoying. I can’t fix it. Other than that the Pods work normally. I have wondered if there is any point in upgrading to the Pro 3?

Has anyone upgraded from the Pro 2 to the Pro 3? Is there much difference in the audio and ANC? These on my Pro 2 I would say are pretty good. The translation feature doesn’t interest me.

Thank you.

I have both (idiot me - I planned to buy the APP3 Pro when they went on sale and, if I decided to keep the, trade in the APP2, only to discover that Apple doesn't offer trade-ins for them). For me the APP3 are slightly better at ANC, mostly because the tips seal better for me, but aren't that much better. APP2 remain the ones that I use if the APP3 batteries are spent (such as on a long flight), or if I watch TV and on our second TV and don't want to bother my wife when she watches on the main TV, but I can workout with the APP3 when I couldn't with the APP2 - they just don't seal well for me. I also have almost four year old Beats Fit Pro that I use for workouts, but I am using them less now, because Adaptive mode on the APP3 (and APP2) are so much better than manually switching between transparent and ANC modes on the Beats.

I've had the APP3 for about 6 weeks and just did a round-trip flight for the first time the past week and they were perfect. APP2 would need to be re-positioned occasionally (such as if I yawned), but the APP 3 did not have that issue for me.

By the way, the translation feature works with APP2 - it's not exclusive to APP3.

The APP2 actually fit my ears pretty well and don't fall out. It seems there is not much difference in the audio quality improvement in the APP3.

I'd say that it's not worth upgrading then.

I left out that I don't care about the heart rate monitor on the APP3, because I wear an Apple Watch anyway, so I always have it there. For me, it's the fit.

Thanks - I think your right. I am happy with them after all. They offer decent audio and fit (for me anyway). If it is not broken why fix it?!

Loved my AirPods Pro 2. One fell out of my ear, rolled quite a few feet onto toad & a car drove over it shading in 2. Just hit APP3. Fit seems good but too bassy and quite percussive at some frequencies. Possible to buy a replacement earpiece for APP2?

Yep when I lost a pro 2 bud I contacted apple support and they sold me one for £80.

As for APP3, They aren't as comfy as the APP2's are (using largest ear tip). They seem bulkier to me.

I'd say that it's not worth upgrading then.

Wrist based heart rate isn't great for accuracy (especially cycling), DC rainmaker did a test and they were very close to a Polar H10 chest strap which is a gold standard for accuracy.

Great idea about replacing one bud, never thought of it. However, my iPhone has forgotten my AirPods Pro 2, no record of them on Find My. The Serial number is too small for me to read and my camera can't get a photo of it. I can't seem to talk to Apple and I don't live near and Apple Store . . .

I did it through The apple support app, I am also not near an Apple store. Do you still have the box for them? The serial number should still be on there, else you can re-pair them to your iPhone, and get the serial through the settings menu (you can long press it and copy).

I managed to contact Apple, in fact you can iMessage Apple. Yes I still have the box but I found the serial number underneath the lid of the case and I was then able to order the AirPod for €111. My AirPods Pro are actually version 1, not 2. I am sending back AirPods Pro 3 as they are very disappointing. They fit ok but the false bass is very annoying and the Noise Cancellation is weird, rustling a paper bag sounds like an Airplane taking off. The age old technology issue - trying to improve something that is not broken

I have both the APP2 and APP3. I haven't listened to either for some time. I've been listening to oner ear headphones lately. Today I took out the APP 2 and 3's for a listen.
The APP3 sounded boomy and screechy on first listen. The APP2 sounded smooth and easygoing. ANC seemed equal on both.
I am beyond the point where I have to go out of my way to justify either purchase. Obviously this is just a personal opinion, but I definitely prefer the APP2 over the APP3.

I have both and the App3 have a different audio curve. Both are very nice, but the APP3 has – maybe due to the mote comply-foamy earbuds – a more direct bass flair, which I personally like and the feel a *bit* louder. All in all, as with most things Apple, not an incremental but sensible upgrade you NEED but one you won't be sorry to make. Audio is very personal and some people like a flat, neutral sound, while I love a more V-shaped EQ with a good strong amount of highs and lows :.D.

And with AC you should be able to replace a lost bud, I think.

I was reluctant to upgrade at first because the features didn't really appeal to me (heart sensor), but now that I've done it I'm glad I did. They're louder, they have more bass, and the ANC is crazy. I still have my 2's just in case I lose/damage the new ones though.
