I have the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) and have for a year or so. Even Apple chat support is telling me that there was a brand new AirPods Pros 2 released yesterday but from what I can tell they have released the AirPod 4s and info on new software updates coming to the APPs.

Was new physical hardware announced yesterday or am I using the most current model?

AirPods 4 were released. There are two versions of AirPods Pro 2. The newer version has USB-C. Neither one was introduced yesterday.

Software updates were introduced yesterday for AirPods Pro 2 to give them more features. Maybe this is the confusion
