I have a set on order now. I love my AP2 but the increased ANC will be well worth it. I do have silicone coated foam eartips for my AP2 so I’m looking forward to testing these claims. I work in a rather noisy office and any reduction of the sounds around me will be well worth the cost! Plus my AP2 are of the lightning variety. Seems like an excellent time to jump to USB-C and eliminate one more unneeded cord!

Also…

Could you please try to be a bit more polite?

This tone is totally unwelcoming to discussion.
…this is choice irony. :)

not a single reason to upgrade.
For anyone - anyone -who couldn’t pass the fit test with previous AirPods Pro models… who never got a proper seal… who suffered through subpar noise reduction and weak bass as a result… maybe this is the upgrade we've been waiting for.

I’ve tried premium foam tips on my Pro 2s. Still can't get a tight seal or fit.

I’m picking up the Pro 3s tomorrow and trying them on in-store. If the new tips and redesign finally solve the fit problem? Worth every bloody cent.

Foam tips make the Airpod Pro 2 perfect. Seems like the heart rate sensing would be the main advantage of an upgrade ... But got a watch already.🤷‍♂️
I have high quality foam tips on my Airpod Pro 2, the fit still sucks. In fact, I've been using Soundcore buds due to the better seal/fit for the past year.

As the owner of the original APPs, definitely time for me to upgrade I feel. Looking forward to them.

Please do report back..

That's a "maybe" and an "if", though ... and one should add that if this suddenly fixes things for you, it will likely break things for someone else.

i.e. not really an upgrade for all

My comment was in response to someone claiming there’s “no reason to upgrade.” That’s just not true - in particular for those of us (and there are many, including David Carnoy at CNET) who couldn’t get a proper seal with previous models.

The redesign, expanded tip options, and the new silicone/foam hybrid should finally solve that. If it does, that’s an upgrade for all/most.

The AirPods Pro 3 look like a very minor upgrade over the Pro 2. Especially if you use ComplyFoam tips like I do as I'm sure a LOT of the ANC improvements are coming from the better seal. I noticed a significant upgrade over the standard tips when I swapped to ComplyFoam.

I'll hold onto my AirPod Pros 2 until they either break OR the AirPod Pros 4 comes along with a new H chip.
You're a convincing person. I just canceled my order of the 3s and am giving the Comply Foam tips a try. At 1/10 the prince, I had no counterargument! Thanks for the tip.

I have APP2 and the improved ANC alone would be a reason for me to upgrade, but I'm waiting for more tests. I'm sure someone will put APP2 with foam tips vs APP3.

I agree that the improved tips probably do a lot of heavy lifting for the claimed improvements, but I'm not disregarding the effect the additional mics may have.

Whether the remaining difference is worth it is obviously a different question.

If one has APP2, I see zero reason to upgrade here.

Buy some foam tips and you'll likely get most of the ANC upgrade also.
If the APP2 fits your ear well ... everyone else should try the APP3.
Initial reports suggest that these fit better/stay in place more securely.

I have tested a number of third-party ear tips (including those with partial or full foam padding). They all degrade ANC performance (regardless of how well or better they seal the ear canal). In my experience, Apple's original ear tips work best for the APP2 / offer the best ANC performance.

If there were ear tips that improved the ANC performance of the APP2, they would probably already be available—perhaps even from Apple itself.

I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a "significant" upgrade except for [possibly] the fit and heat rate sensing. I'm convinced ANC is subjective. Upgrades of any kind are welcomed, and when these have a sale, I'll likely upgrade myself. But significant?
I guess "significant" to differentiate from "no change". Is it possible to make less significant changes?
Need to look into the ComplyFoam tips.

Can you tell me more about ComplyFoam? I would like a better seal, comfort and fit in my ears so they won't slip out. I don't have that much of an issue with Apple's own tips, but it sounds like these are a must-buy to make my AirPods Pro 2 perfect
AirPods Pro became usable for me as soon as I put the Comply Foam tips on them. Game changer.

Here is the link: https://www.complyfoam.com/products/apple-airpods-pro-ear-tips

Amazon has them too and they have two types TrueGrip and Max. Order the same size that you use currently on your AirPods Pro.

Significant in itself is subjective. I read in a review I can't find now that whereas APP2 ANC gets you to 90% of where you want to be, the tester suggested the APP3 get you to 98% (though with foam tips that difference may be less).

Is that significant? I know that for my wife, who has absolutely no issues with unwanted noises and lives happily with AirPods 4 with ANC, the answer would be categorically no. Personally, I'm extremely easily annoyed by noises and ANC is easily the quality of life feature for me, so if accurate it would be more than significant for me.

A decrease can also be a great thing. For example: a lighter, more immersive listening experience.
Huh? They increased battery in the buds, but overall total battery is lost due to the case... unless I am reading this incorrectly. So, by "lighter" you mean in the case which isn't impacting the listening experience, I am confused by your statement.
