That’s nothing new though. And I don’t say it’s right, I too would love more than one color, but this is just how the Apple gets bitten.
White, later also silver, have always been signature colors for Apple. Silver MacBooks, white accessories, titanium grey watch, white/silver and black/grey as the the only colors to never be missing for iPhones.
All in the name of recognition and branding.
That’s also why their designs are so praised and copied, they practically have (or had in some cases) the most simple and low key looks possible. Ten years ago, had you asked anyone to draw a phone, it would have been an iPhone from whenever. Rectangular screen, forehead, chin, and a round home button. Als in a frame with probably round edges. That’s every iPhone from 2007 to 2016. MacBooks are very basic, the Apple Watch looks very simple, AirPods (Pro imo) with their case just look, finished, almost.
They made it this way, and now they are riding their own wave.
