By that I mean, the amount of noise coming from your Airpods that others near you can year. This past June I was traveling in Germany on a train and I was in their "quiet car". I was just sitting there enjoying the scenery while listening to my Spotify playlist when the gentleman in front of me got up, looked at me, and asked if I could turn the music down. Oooops. Ever since then I've been overly conscious about playing music while sitting near somebody else, like on a plane. Yes, I do like my music on the louder side. Perhaps with the noise cancellation I won't be as tempted to play my music loud. My audiologist would certainly approve.

Can anybody here with a Pro share their experiences? I would think with the tighter in-ear fit you're not going to get as much leakage but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm wondering exactly the same, the normal airpods leaked a lot of sound

With noise cancellation, your music can be 1/2 as loud as before, and you can still hear everything. This will help the health of your ears.

And with the seal, I would think the noise leakage to the outside world would be near zero. But I haven't tested that yet.

Should be easy for someone to test. Just set the volume to your normal listening level then take an airpod out and cover the tip with your finger tip to create a seal. Can you still hear it at arm's length?
Has anyone tried similar and can feed back?

If UPS doesn't mess up again today like it did yesterday mine should be here by this afternoon. I'll test it out with my wife because she could always hear when I was playing music.

I did a little experiment this morning. Cranked a song with my Airpods v2, my wife was sitting about 10ft away. She said she could very clearly hear my music. Played the same song same volume with Airpods Pro and she couldn't hear a thing. Big win for the Pro!

My experience is totally different. I listen to quite heavy bass music and my Pro leaks music just as much as my Gen 2. This is with ANC and Transparency mode. But I listen to quite loud music tbh.

Side note, does anyone experience ear fatigue/discomfort in one ear only?
I’ve been noticing it on my left ear even after taking them off for a while.

Yep, they definitely leak sound with high volume levels.

Probably so, but not nearly as much as as with the earlier Airpods in my experience. Subjectively I'd say the noise leakage cut at least in half. I did a little experiment where I listened to the same part of the same song (fittingly called "Crank It") with a Gen2 and and Pro and I recorded myself with a different iPhone a few feet away. Listening back to the clips I could hear some of the beat on the Pro clip but MUCH more with the Gen 2 clip. I'd share my clips here but apparently I can't attach M4A files.
