Anyone experience a rattling sound when walking or turning your head with them in?

Only happens on the left one, and can only hear it with music off.

I don’t know if it’s the same but I had a small clicking noise which was annoying. I used the smaller tips which worked well. The larger tips had the click sound. So try that maybe? It could just be the silicone moving around.

Thanks for suggestion, tried all tips and nothing resolved it so I took them back and will order some more direct from Apple.

I had the sane problem develop and the left AirPod replaced in January. The replacement AirPod started showing the same symptoms.

When I had that one replaced the “Apple Genius” was rather argumentative about it. He says there are no moving parts in an AirPod and he hasn’t come across this problem ever.

Any idea where this rattling noise could stem from?

It only seems to be noticeable when either ANC or transparency mode is turned on.

I had that too on the left unit of the first pair. Had it replaced. But then the new left side ANC was way better than right side, so the right side was replaced too. Asymmetric ANC was intolerable.

Currently on my 3rd APPs. The rattle issue only on one unit, but ANC issues developed within a week on all 3 pairs.

stupid me...i used to have the original AirPods and had to clean them regularly. Skip the whole sucking business and get yourself some blue- or white-tack. that will remove any dirt from the grills. did do the job for me, the rattling noise has disappeared.

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had the same problem. I resolved by doing a full reset and securing the silicon onto the Pod.

To factory reset: leave cap open while holding the pair button for ten seconds, or until a red LED flashes three times.

To secure silicon: push with some force on the silicon towards the the frame of the AirPod.

Hope this helps.

I had a clicking type of sound in my right AirPod when I moved. I only heard it when on noice canceling or transparency mode, not when the mode was set to Off. I chatted with Apple support today via iMessage and they are mailing me a replacement.

Wow, I just tried cleaned that top part (after reading that suck it post) and the awful noises have gone from my left AirPod.

Oh wait, just put in both and it's back 😿

I have found the tru cause

That is uniquely to be the explanation for most people's experience of it.

The problem Apple mentioned in their support page only occurs with ANC on or in transparency mode.

The problem mentioned in the video would appear in all modes.
