My AirPods Pro are both stuck at 80% battery power. The status monitor on my iPhone indicates that they are charging, but the charge level doesn't exceed 80%. Is this a "feature" to optimize battery life, or is this likely an issue? They are under the 1 year warranty for another three weeks. Thanks.

iOS 14.2 adds an "optimized charging" feature. It was just released today, but were you using one of the 14.2 betas?

That's interesting. I am running the beta on my iPad. Do you know how you override this behavior to charge it to 100%?

The switch is in the device Bluetooth settings, tap on the "i" next to the AirPods listing, and scroll down to toggle the option.

I have this feature enabled. But my airpods still charged to 100%. For those of you with the feature working, is the case maxing out at 80% or are the pods themselves maxing out?

Both AirPods Pro case and buds charge to 100% for me. I’ve iPhone 12 pro on iOS 14.2 with optimized battery charging set.
