I recently got some Airpods Pro USB C which I came from the 2nd gen lightning and I truly do believe they sound better. However, I noticed something strange on one of the ear tips. It's not perfectly round like the other ear tip, it has a small manufacturing imperfection. I'm curious how wide spread this is, and if others have noticed this? To be fair, it has absolutely no impact on sound quality or comfort to my ears at all, still kind of shows a manufacturing defect. Not sure if the box comes with another set of M size ear tips. Can anyone confirm as I’m currently not home and can’t check the box right now.

Hmm that is strange about the non-perfectly round ear tip. A small manufacturing imperfection shouldn't affect functionality, but is a bit disappointing for such an expensive product. A few thoughts:

It is possible others may have slight variations in ear tip shape as well, manufacturing can't be perfect 100% of the time. As long as sound/fit isn't impacted, it may just be cosmetic.

You could check with Apple if the box includes extra ear tip sets like it usually does. May be worth requesting replacement tips from them just for completeness.

If sound is good, I wouldn't stress too much. We tend to notice tiny flaws more when something is new. After some use it will likely bother you less!

Checking some discussion forums could give insight into how common variations may be. But again, don't fret unless issues develop.

Overall it sounds like they're performing well and that's the most important part. The ear tips are a replaceable part if needed down the line.

I agree with you. I mean for something that retails for $249 I don’t want even cosmetic blemishes on the product. As far as I can tell, thankfully functionality is not impacted, however, I will make an appointment as the box doesn’t include more M size ear tips only bigger or smaller than M ear tips.

I've had a tip rip, went into the store without an appointment, and asked one of the greeters, they handed me a replacement set of tips (full set, one of each of the sizes like what comes in the box)

That's generous. What part of the country are you from? I'm in NYC and had to arque with these Apple store employees for one ear tip!

also NYC, was at the west 14th location.

it was a while ago,
maybe they hadn't started selling spare tips?
