AirPods - static on phone calls?

Is anyone else getting any static on phone calls? Music plays fine.

I have tried turning of LTE voice, wifi calling, and repairing bluetooth.

It is really just when someone speaks on the call, there is a static like buzz/white noise around their voice.

I love these things otherwise, but if I can't figure this out I am going to have to return them.

I haven't noticed any static on mine and use them a lot for phone calls. May need to have them checked.

Its not a very audible hiss. I actually cant hear it if I not in a absolutely pin drop silence environment. Its extremely subtle but its there.

Unpair them from bluetooth, restart phone and repair them again. that worked for me, I had the same issue.

static during calls, callers said I sounded like a chipmunk AirPod randomly disconnecting and white noise silence. Originally I thought I was because of the beta I was running after doing a restore to a non-beta the issue was still there. It wasn't until I googled the issue and it was suggested to unpair completely restart and repair again that fixed it.

I’ve had static with my car Bluetooth & Air Pods with my 8+. Finally broke down and ‘forgot’ every Bluetooth device on my phone and removed phone from car. Then Reset Network Settings. So far, so good.. no static.
