AW Series 2, around 16 months old.

Recently noticed when making small adjustments to airpods volume during a workout using the crown that the volume "jumps" up and down - randomly, like with a mind of its own.

Making more deliberate and continuous crown rotations for volume seems fine.

Will try post a video to show this behaviour better.

Anyone else have this issue ?

For me could be 2 things:
- software bug
- bad crown after many ocean swims in salt water (around 60-80 open water events).

Always wash the watch in fresh water however, so leaning towards the former.

when rinsing, do you move the crown?

I do indeed, and also use a toothbrush and soap to gently get the bristles in between the crown and casing.

Leaving salt water without rinsing makes it very dry/ sticky.

Playing music (airpods + watch) without workout active: no issue with airpods volume control.
Playing music from phone (airpods + phone) using watch to control volume: also, no issue.
