Airport - Automatically Reconnect Macbook

Sometimes my macbook looses it's connection to my airport extreme network. It used to just reconnect on it's own, but now I have to manually do it. This is a problem when I'm downloading large files. Any suggestions?

I'm having this problem! I have a MacBook as well. How do I even connect manually? I used to have an Airport Disk Utility in my Utilities folder, but now it's gone!!! Where do I connect manually?

There's a good discussion thread in apple support. It appears to be a problem with airport firmware.
