Airport boost

I've only just started using Airport on my G5 iMac at my girlfriends place in Switzerland. I can find her wifi network to get the internet but only if I'm within 4 or 5 meters of her antanae. Her PC works fine all over the house, can I buy a USB booster ariel of some sort to boost my reception or could there be some problem with my hardware?

I don't think there are any USB extenders (well none that I can think of) and as a rule, USB wireless dongles do more harm than good on a Mac. They often don't survive system upgrades without crashing.

What sort of security does the network have? What brand is the router? Have you tried angling the iMac in a different way? 🙂
