check this in your keychain access control panel...

As I was trying the connection, I put the computer to sleep, it sleeps on its own fine, then upon wake it cant find the network? I tried my own hint of deleting the keychain and starting a new one, did it once (nothing happened) and then I decided to inspect the control access panel and one item was missing: which was the system preferences icon on this list, I add it to the list and now I tested it and I think its working great again so inspect your keychain access allowed apps.

I don't have problem with Airport on 10.5.2 after doing with MBP.

That's odd about issue from other members.

You can go to Best Buy to get wireless USB (Linksys, D-link, Netgear) then hook it in Mac's USB then disconnect the Airport and would help alot.

Don't forgot to report the bug to Apple as well.

I have given up on my home wireless network since Verizon updated firmware on their supplied router on January 25th.

Now with the system update everything is just completely jacked up on both ends. I am giving up for the time being. Wired is fine in the house because I am not investing any more time in this stuff until software on both sides is cleared up.

Since installing the update I'm getting random airport disconnects.

The thing is, I never EVER had this problem on 10.5.1.

Any ideas of what to try to fix it?

I am having the exact same problem. Random disconnects ever since I upgraded to 10.5.2, and I never had a problem with .1. Mac Pro 2.66.

I included these items...

in the Keychain control access pane...the airport file was already listed in my pbook so I included it in my mini, so far its been a good connection.

i tried the keychain access..an it improved the longevity between disconnects for sure but still does disconnect with the same problem and then shows the airport scanning again

anyone fix this problem?

I have had one drop with 10.15.2. I stepped away from my macbook and came back and the airport icon was greyed out, I had to reconnect manually. I never had this with 10.15.1 and I pretty much use wireless 99% of the time. I'm keeping an eye on it for now. I am using wireless G on a Linksys router. Not using N.

I forgot one more element in the keychain

the systemuiserver.app
I had to delete all the plist files because it did not re-connect after I awoke the computer from sleep, so I threw away the system configuration folder, all airport plists files and the keychain, upon restarting the keychain showed the files I was looking for which is the systemUIserver and the airport deamon, (in the keychain lists as: airport) I added the System prefs and the apple80211agent. I think this stabilizes yet again the network.

Disabling IPv6 fixes Airport issues

Disabling IPv6 fixed my Airport issues. This was after trying myriads other things like resetting my router, deleting Keyboard Access items, etc.

Would everyone that is having trouble please also post what machine you are on? I am curious if it a Mac Pro only issue or if it is related to other machines as well. I also have a MacBook Pro and it has not shown any signs of the issue--only my Mac Pro.

kylew01,

I'm on a 2006 macbook (2GHZ, 2GB of memory)

Airport:Scanning....continuously....

It screws up my torrent downloads overnight!

Mine was fine in 10.5.1

No issue with any of the 4 independent wireless networks I use through out a week. (Home / Uni / Friends house / Parents house - all running different router brands and or model numbers.).

This is most likely a router / air port configuration / chair - keyboard interface error.

My macbook has issues dropping wifi. Still show full bars in the menu too. I have to turn off airport and turn back on to get me going again. Gotta do it every 5-10min. This is at my gf's house connecting to a d-link router. Their windows laptop has no issues. That's with WPA turned on. If the router is set to no security, it works perfect for me.

At home, I use an AEBS. Works perfect there.

10.5.2 is the "System 3.0" of OS X releases!!

Since installing the update I'm getting random airport disconnects. The thing is, I never EVER had this problem on 10.5.1. Any ideas of what to try to fix it?

Yup, exact same thing here. SR MBP 17" HD 2.4GHZ 4GB RAM 160GB HD, running 10.5.2. Everything was rock solid - NEVER a disconnect with 10.5.0 (drop-in DVD install), nor 10.5.1

Immediately after updating to 10.5.2, I drop Airport connections many times a day, and when I try a reconnect, it wants the WEP password again! Yesterday, I was working in Photoshop and printed a "Print One Copy" draft, then did a quick image resize and mode adjust. Went to print again, and BAM! - found I was disconnected. No sleep, no period of inactivity.

Is there any way to "roll back" to 10.5.1? I am running Time Machine, and have backups to November 07....

i've had this problem consistently since upgrading to leopard on a rev b macbook. it's slightly better in 10.5.2 than 5.1, and does the continually scanning thing every now and again. it also takes ages to connect on waking from sleep.

to the people who keep saying this is obviously an issue with the router or signal strength or whatever: just because you aren't seeing this problem doesn't mean it's not real. this is the major problem i have with leopard at the moment and is infuriating; i used to be so smug under tiger because airport connectivity was great and i could always connect to networks that other people's computers couldn't see...

Mac Pro, same problem

I have never had problems before either, and yet now I can't go 15 minutes without losing the signal. I work as a f/t web designer, I need my internet. I have done the above suggestions, and now we will see if that fixes it.
This is REALLY frustrating though.

Although, right after my 10.5.2 update, the screen was solid white, and even when I figured out a way to log in, the about box was blank too. It was really messed up, and scary. I updated the graphics update though, and all is good now (except the wireless problems).

Heavy loss of connection since the 10.5.2 as well. Makes no sense and i hope APPLE is on this fast with a fix.....:(:confused:

You can me to the list of people with problems as well.

August '07 MacBook Pro user here.

Using a D-Link router with WPA security.

When I use my campus internet (WEP security) I have absolutely zero issues.

Has anyone tried contacting Apple about this?

Is this with a 3rd party router? Might want to upgrade to AEBS...

Disabling IPv6 to fix 10.5.2 airport issues!

As per Burma's Comment. It seems (after a day now) that Disabling IPv6 fixed my Airport issues.

check out http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050504161223778 for a overview on how to do this (I know that is for 10.4, but it worked for me!)

UPDATE March 2, 2008: I apologize. Although it seems a little better, I still have problems. Can't wait for a fix from Apple.
