The Apple website regarding the AirPort Disk states:

    Instant drive sharing.
New to AirPort Extreme, AirPort Disk turns almost any external USB hard drive into a shared drive.

What does almost mean? Does anybody know what to look for? I seem to have one of the drives that does not work. It works fine on the MBP but is not recognized on the AirPort.

I think they are saying they can't be responsible that every drive built in the known universe will be compatible. Hopefully yours is not one of those rare exceptions.

I had the same problem with mine at first. The fix for me was to turn the power off on the drive and then back on while it was still connected to the base station, Then the drive was recognized

Do you think the partition scheme matters? The disk that gives me problems has a Master Boot Record?
