Airport Disk

    yes you can use an external USB disk on your AEBS:n.

    I do.

    No I do not know. If it's a USB interface there's a good chance it'll work.

    Just curious why not have ordered a Time Capsule this late in the game? The AEBS:n does not currently allow you to use Time Machine with an air disk

    though apparently an easy fix is to plug the disk into the mac, set up time machine and then plug it in to the base station and it will work from then on when mounted.

    Yes, it's a workaround however. Apple for whatever reason disabled it before Time Machine was released. With Time capsule it will work and maybe with 1.5.2 it'll work with AEBS:n's too without the hack.

    Thanks for the help.
    Yes hopefully there will be an offical fix in the future.
    The main reason for not getting Time Machine was the price, it is nearly double the price of AEBS in the UK.
