I'm having the hardest time tracking down this issue, and I was hoping someone else here could help.

I have an airport card installed on a G3 iMac which is running Tiger. About 25 to 50% of the time, the Mac doesn't automatically connect to the preferred wireless access point upon boot. There is only one access point on that list, and its always at 100% signal since its not far away, so I really don't understand why it would only connect when it feels like it. If I restart the computer, then it MIGHT connect normally. Also, If I manually turn airport off and then back on again from the menu bar shortcut, then it'll connect just fine 100% of the time.

I was originally having this problem with Panther, and I figured a clean install of Tiger might clear things up, but alas... same issue.

No one has a clue? Does OSX keep some kind of network or airport log file I can look at to see what might be going wrong?
