Hello. I jus got a new iPad Air 2 and my old base Dlink router is showing some sign of weakness. So I want a new router. I could have a refurbished AA from 2013 half the price of a new one on Apple site. Do a 2013 and 2015 AA have both the same tech and specs. As far as I can figure it out by myself, the answer is yes but I may be wrong. Friends also suggest I take a look at Asus or newer Dlink. Plus my IP has leasing plan of 2.99$/month on a Zytel EMG2926-Q10A. I like very much the design of the AA. Some hints are vert welcome. So I'm a bit puzzled here.
Thanks much in advance.

Is this what you are looking at?

The current Airport Express came out in 2012 and has not been updated since, so this one is the newest model.

If you only need wifi for Internet access for your iPad, then I'd say the Express is fine. But if you have other computers on the network and your needs are more demanding, there are much more robust and configurable options out there for only a little more money. For example, you can get this TP-Link 802.11AC router for $96.

Gee, I'm such an idiot. In all my post, I meant "Airport Extreme". So it should read "Airport Extreme 2013 vs 2015". Very sorry my friends for not paying attention. Thanks for helping.

So this one? Yeah.... there have been no updates since and that is the newest.

There is nothing really wrong with the Airport Extreme, but IMO for the money they have only average wifi performance and are somewhat feature poor compared to comparable AC1750 class routers.
