I want to see if this is possible:

I want to connect my 500 GB External Hard drive to my Airport express (current Gen) so that I can update Time Machine and store all of my media on it. When I plug the external hard drive into the back of my Airport Express it says that the airport express doesn't have enough power or something of that matter. Now, can I buy a powered USB hub to connect it to? Will the Airport Express even support this feature?

Also, regarding the airport extreme. Does that come with a harddrive on it? Im confused about that part.

Thanks!

-Mike

Time Capsule is Apples AirPort Extreme with a HDD in it.

The Express USB port only supports printers.

The Express does not support USB hard drives, only USB printers. The Extreme does support them, but it does not come with a hard drive.
