So I noticed that when I installed my Time Capsule it gave me the option of having it join my existing wireless network when using the Airport Utility app.

So What I want to know is, is it possible to get my airport Express (old model) to do the same thing?

Currently I use it purely for the purposes of streaming music but have to swith between wireless networks to do so which can be a pain. Strangely it does not appear in Airport Utility when I launch it, just the TC does.

Any ideas?

found this on another message board and it appears to be true...

Airport 5.3.1 utility has a bug. It has a hard time to see the old base stations g. Usually it just ignores them, making access and configuration of the base station impossible. If you make an initilisation of the base station, it just makes things more complicated since it resets it to the factory default and then it can not be regulated.

The disk that came with the timecapsule contains 5.3 and that does seem to work
