This is somewhat of a newbie question, since I have very little experience with networks, but here it goes:

I have a PC with Windows 7 and internet access through an Ethernet connection and its nice little modem. I would like to create a wi-fi network in my home for my iPhone. I have successfuly created a wi-fi network using a Linksys wireless router, but I'm not very fond of it; I would rather use a router from a more reliable manufacturer.

My question is, would a Base AirPort Express be enough for me to create a wi-fi network in my home, or would I need to use a router and the AirPort Express? Does the AirPort express work as a router for a PC using Windows, so I could use it to simply replace the router I currently have (and create a new network), or does it only work as an addendum to a router, meaning I would have to keep my Linksys router?
