    Hey guys,

I have an airport extreme base station which I use with my macbook pro on wireless n 5GHz.

My dad wants to connect his vista machine to the network but doesn't have an n card.

If I buy an airport express can I hook the vista machine to it through the ethernet port, and will that connect it to my wireless network???

You can do that via WDS. It should work just fine.

    Yes.

Install AirPort utility on his machine.

    Launch AirPort Utility
Select The AirPort Express and Continue Set Up
Select You Want to connect the internet wirelessly
Select You want the AirPort Express to Join an existing Network
Select your current AEBSn Network and enter your password

and you should be set. apologize if the wording or the 3rd/4th arent in proper order, its been a while since i set mine up that way.

    hope that helps

Careful - this TEG guy gives fairly dodgy advice.

Thanks guys, I bought it and it works perfectly.

The vista machine is on the net, and easily streams all the tv shows and movies stored on my 'airdisk'.
