next Airport express

I'm thinking of getting an Airport Express but I thought that since it's been a while since the release of the first one, something new should be in the pipe, perhaps being launched at WWDC in San Francisco.

Since this is a rumor site, is there any speculation as to a second generation of Airport Express and what improvements would be forthcoming?

I'd like to see an Airport Express with wireless firewire so that all devices could be connected to the unit (like scanner, iSight, iPod, etc) leaving a PowerBook truely wireless.

This might be nice but part of Airport express is that it is so small thus the express part of the name. For that I would like to see apple produce an Airport extreme with those capabilities. For the next realese of airport express I would like to see a remote control come with it! I have heard of as a rumor an ipod with wifi built in so you can use it with Airport express (kind of like a really cool remote.)

Wish I had a 10Mbit net connection :eek: But while we're here, how is your network set up? Is the computer that is downloading on wireless? Is it the same computer that is streaming AirTunes? If the answer is "No" to either of those questions, you might be able to reconfigure your network to isolate the net download from your Airport Express. Typically, a switch would help.
All data is going through Airport Express and I have just the iBook.

RJ45 plug on the wall <-CAT5e FTP-> Airport Express <-WLAN 54Mbps-> iBook 1.2GHz 12"

Just an update to the problem I posted (#635). It looks like it may have been "user error". I posted what I did to resolve the issue in this thread

All is now joyous in the land of Airport Express!
