    Hello,

Needing a question answered about the current AirPort Extreme Base Station on the Apple Store website.

Do you still need to have a router to connect to the internet and to make it work?? Or does the AirPort Extreme Base Station have everything in it, so you just take it out of the box, plug it in and it just works.

    Thanks.

    AirPort Extreme Is A Router

The AirPort Extreme is a router. You need a modem to connect to the Internet. You connect your modem to your router. That then give you the ability to connect multiple computers on one network and get Internet service for all connected computers to your router. You can also use the router to create a network/connect multiple hardware (computers, servers, printers...) together so they can communicate with each other.
