AirPort Extreme Base Station

Hi,

I've been thinking about getting the AirPort Extreme Base Station to take advantage of its 802.11n capabilities. But I'm wondering if there's 'right time' to buy this piece of hardware. Are Apple likely to release a new version any time soon? When was it last upgraded? Are the current wireless standards due to change anytime soon either?

I'm not sure about the release date, but AE works great...if you don't mind spending a little more, get the time capsule

I wouldn't bother buying an AirPort Extreme. It would be far less expensive to buy something from NetGear, Linksys, etc. Plus there is some cool firmware you can flash onto several non-Apple routers.
