Airport Extreme - blinking amber

I just setup my AirPort Extreme base station yesterday and everything seems to be working flawlessly with both my internet connection and using my external drive as a network drive.

The amber light won't stop blinking though and the manual says that that means it is having issues connection. Has anyone had this issue before? Is there something I am missing in the setup even though everything is working fine?

Do you have any security enabled, or are you running the Airport Extreme base station as a fully open access point?

Iirc, the extreme will flash amber when running as an open AP. Could this be the case?

How exactly would I check if that was the case? COMPLETELY new to Mac OS here...so I really appreciate the help.
