Airport Extreme firmware update problem

I have the Airport Extreme (fast ethernet) edition 802.11n. I updated to airport utility and it didn't show firmware update. checked the airport firmware and it it has 7.4.2 and only allowed me to downgrade back to a earlier firmware.

no mention of the new firmware for it.

how can I figure out if I need to update it?

The update is only for newer airports, there are other threads explaining this is detail.
