I currently have a Mac Pro 1,1 from 2006 with a stack full of upgrades except the Airport Extreme card I also have a Airport Extreme Base Station. I dont use the two together and just use the AEBS for my Macbook pro and iPhone. I am moving into a new apartment and my room mate has a 3rd party modem and router.

I want to be able to connect to the internet and his network on my Mac Pro. Is it possible to plug my Mac pro into the AEBS using an ethernet cable and pick up his signal with the AEBS?

Ideally I want to keep his network running as the main network for the apartment and keep the AEBS in my room.

    Thanks in advance guys

im pretty sure the aebs is just like a router, and cannot pick up wifisignals and transfer them to ethernet, only vice versa. you should get an airport card or just run an ethernet cable to your roommates router

    Exactly this one.
The Airport Express would work the way you wanted to (client mode), however the Airport Extreme Base Station does not support this mode AFAIK.
