I want to move files from my Apple Airport Extreme 2TB drive to a newly purchased Sandisk extreme portable SSD (model SDSSDE61-1T00). But when I plug the drive into the back of the Airport Extreme the utility app shows the image below "disk needs repair" in orange.

FYI - I can plug in a USB flash drive and it shows the disk under my aiport name in finder, so that works. But my Sandisk is USB-C and has an adapter from USB-C to USB-A. So maybe the adapter is the problem?

Did you format the usb drive ?
I haven't done anything to it except plug it in! But like I said, my Macbook Air 2020 recognizes the Sandisk SSD and when I plug a USB flashdrive into the Airport Extreme, that gets recognized too.
