the airport extreme requires you to plug in your modem/router to it right?

doesnt that look a bit rubbish. or as i im hoping, do you just plug the phone line into the back of the Airport extreme and thats it.

The airport extreme has a WAN port you plug your modem into. Does it look like rubbish? No, this is the way all routers work.

ive currently got a router and modem in one box. all i do is plug the phone cabel in the back and thats the only device there is.

its old now and i need a new one. so if i were to get an air port extreme i guess i will need a new modem to plug into it?

Phone your ISP and ask them to walk you though bridging your Modem and then place the PPPoE login credentials into your Airport.
