Greetings...I have been having the following problems with my Airport connection on my Intel MacBook Pro:

1). When it is booted...the Airport connection is very slow to recognize my Airport Extreme & Airport Express (configed as an extender). It takes 1-2 minutes to connect to the network. I have the network as a wirless N 5ghz connection in AEBS.

2). Once connected, the Airport toolbar icon always shows" Scanning..." when I click on the toolbar icon. Then it switches to "On". Is that Normal activity? to be constantly scanning?

3). Is Wireless N (5ghz) really worth it? I have my AEBS in the basement, and I can hardly get a connection upstairs on my MBP. SHould I use Wireless N on 2.4ghz?

Thoughts comments welcome.

1) Don't know.
2) Normal.
3) Yes - go to 2.4ghz. The range is better. May be related to 1).
