Airport Utility does not see Airport Express

Trying to set up an Airport Express and Airport Utility does not see it. It also does not see my other AE which has been set up for some years. They also don't show up in Prefernces/Network.

iMac 2015, 10.14 latest version.

Are they the new (puck) type or the old (AC-plug) type?
Old AP express is not supported in utility any more.

It's the MB321LL/A, it plugs directly into the socket. Since when do they not support this model? It's very good, and the code is already there.
