I ordered a 13" i5/8GB/128 on 7/29

It's estimated delivery is between Monday and Wednesday of next week. I'll be sure and report here as soon as I'm able with the installed OS version. I had assumed that since it was BTO and after the ML release that I would be looking at 10.8 out of the box.

Same here: ordered a BTO on the 27th. I'm sure that they have all BTO options in stock. I don't believe in Santa Claus so I don't believe that they only build BTOs when an order comes in. :D

You have to register your new Mac to get the free upgrade.

Check out this site: http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/

mine shipped with Lion

Ordered a 13" Air with the 8GB ram upgrade on 7/23

Arrived in-store on 7/31, had Lion.

But Apple store employee did his thing, walked me thru registering, and brought me an ethernet cable to make the download a 3 minute process. (whole lot faster then my amazing 4.5 Mbps connection would have taken at home)

Very Nice.

Whoa... 4.7GB in three minutes! They must have the ML installer cached on a local server or something? That is a fast download.

Everyone,

I just received my 13" Macbook Air (today - 8/6/2012) that I purchased BTO from US apple.com on 7/29/2012.

Having just opened it up, everything seems great, and I'm pleased to report that OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is installed out of the box!

That is fantastic news. Mine is somewhere on the FedEx truck. I've been looking out the window every 10 minutes.

I returned my 1st MBA last month and went through about 3-4 windows premium laptops and none seemed to be "perfect" in my book.. so I'm back to the MBA. It just arrived today and has ML pre-installed.

PS. Fedex God must be smiling at me today.. I got mine at 8:30am, sharp!

I confirm that new MBA is now shipped with ML 10.8 installed. :)

My order was placed on 31 July BTO, I just received my order today from DHL.

Nice to know the MacBooks are now shipping with the latest OS.

Is it possible you guys could post the specs of your MacBook Air's and maybe the display panel make? :)

Could you also tell us how much room ML is taking up on your HDD? Reports from upgrades are across the board. I'd like to see what preinstalled ML is doing for space. Thanks!!!

I concur with bradPiano.

I made my BTO 13" MacBook Air purchase at Apple.com on July 30 at about 7 pm EST -- and received it in my hands from FedEx at 9:30 a.m. this morning.

It has Mountain Lion pre-installed and everything is looking and working just great. The product is in pristine condition, with no nicks and scratches that some others have experienced.

One note - remember to run Software Update to get the latest ML patch.

I do believe that some apple stores have lion and ml stored locally. They probably need to reinstall the os frequently so I guess that they are reducing bandwidth costs by keeping those files locally.

Mine was a BTO, shipped on 30 August. Arrived today with... Lion :/

but was very simple to update, in 2hours was running ML.

:( at least you're all fixed up now - I assume u mean July 30 too

Mine shipped July 31 and came with ML!!
