One of my AirTags didn’t show up on my map anymore and there fore I assumed, the battery may have died and I deleted it from my devices since I wanted to connect it to my other iPhone anyway. However, when I pick up the AirTag now, it does the warning sound so it can’t be empty?! Yet neither iPhone gives me the prompt to connect it. Would it be possible for the battery to be too weak to connect but still strong enough to make the sound? Weird

Remove and replace the battery quickly five times. It should beep a little differently after the fifth time. That'll reset the AirTag and should make it show up to be paired again.

There is indeed a noticeable different chirp the fifth time. I had to reset one myself. After that different sound it pops up immediately on the iPhone.
