I had the same issue. iPhone would say weak signal when all three airtags were a few feet away. I reset my iPhone and then everything worked as it should.

People, no one tried yet? Let's make the most frustrated face ever into your FaceId camera and go five-tapping everywhere on iOS

Ever since I tried this developer mode, precision finding doesn't work anymore. Anyone else has this issue?

It would be nice to have some interfaces that are more verbose... I'm kinda getting sick of the 'tap 7 things to get to one function via submenus for the sake of minimalism' when we used to have most options available in one tap... Looking at YouTube...

I'm curious about what that Eco mode is used for, maybe the developers ran their devices at half-res to save battery life while testing?
Applying all these effects to a background that will be blurred to begin doesn't require you to feed it with a high-res image. Therefore using a lower-res image is sufficient and more performant and thus saves battery life.

Couldn’t get it to pair four times, refused to take it back to the store. I guess “necessity” is the mother of invention?

I’ve had plenty of brand new devices out of the box that weren’t fully charged or even halfway there.
These products don’t use rechargeable batteries though. You pull the tag to activate the battery when you remove it from the box.

These are all UI component tests, right? No new data about the airtag appears to be presented, only data about the performance of the UI, color values, frame rates, alpha transparency. This is something like a Calculator Construction Set for a whimsical tracker app.

I once accidentally discovered a developer mode on an iPod. First I didn’t know how to go back to normal mode and just switch the iPod off and on. Then I couldn’t remember how I did get in developer mode :)

So actually that hidden menu appears when you tap 4 times anywhere on the top of the screen. You dont have to only tap the name. I tapped on the right side and it appeared as well.

I will say it is neat to increase the dot size. Though I dont know if it is related but I can no longer get my phone to find my airtags. Is anyone having that issue?

I actually found how to fix this. When in Developer mode, make sure the blue button at the bottom of the screen says "proximity mode"
Lolol, nice find! Welp that was a lot easier than I imagined!! Definitely bump this!

Wouldn't have occurred to me in a product new out of the box.
Well I remember some screen shots of people getting their AirTags and showing 2019 and 2020 on the box so if they were in the box that long, and I have no way of knowing of course, but I could see the battery being close to dead because I think the are to last a year under normal use so sitting around for a year or two could weaken the battery.
