I don't see any risk when I lives in a city full of iPhone, unless you can provide ones.I don’t try my luck with members of the family but you folks go ahead.

I actually found this! I love the style and it seems the tag won't fall. I already ordered mine in Blue!Hope someone can make an airtag holding collar.
Looks great, but a bit too fancy for my dog. She is spoiled enough!I actually found this! I love the style and it seems the tag won't fall. I already ordered mine in Blue!

Wouldn't you want the white part to show outwards being that is the speaker and it won't scratch the stainless steel as easy?I actually found this! I love the style and it seems the tag won't fall. I already ordered mine in Blue!

Maybe this can get sorted out in a software update, but in the meantime, I could imagine a couple of workarounds. So it looks like the biggest limitation is that only one person can ever track a family's pets. Seems like a pretty dumb limitation as it rules out AirTags for anything shared like a shared set of keys, luggage, car, bike etc. So while AirTags for pets will 'work', you have to decide who in the family to pair the pet's AirTag with.
You could remove the AirTag before dropping your dog off at your parent's place. If they have iPhones, they could put an AirTag paired to their iPhone on your dog. Thanks for this video.
This is why the tag suits me. I live in highly populated city.
Only concern is if parents watch the dog for a few days and it starts making sounds. If there is a way to disable the alerts while they have them. It be great.
I got one on his harness, mostly to track him on his walk with the wife, she hasn't been wearing her watch 5 and sometimes it is nice to know where they went incase he sits down and won't budge, then I can come and rescue them. Also if his harness is buried under stuff in the house and finally to wake him up if he is goofing around in the back yard and ignoring my pleas to come to go in. for some reason he figures it out and comes over to me.Anyone thinking about putting an AirTag on your pets collar?
Good question! I asked the producer and you can put the tag both ways. I orderer a custom AirTag with my dog's name engraved so I'll put the stainless steel part inward so it's protected and the name showsWouldn't you want the white part to show outwards being that is the speaker and it won't scratch the stainless steel as easy?

Exactly what I bought the 4 pack.Anyone thinking about putting an AirTag on your pets collar?
Getting them chipped at the vet doesn't really help only if a person who finds your dog is willing to bring it to a vet who can look up the owner. The airtag can actually help you locate your dog and sometimes time is of the essence especially if it's late at night and there are coyotes or other prey animals..I don’t see the value for a pet. If you really care about the pet, you can get them chipped at the vet.
You really think an airtag is gonna track your dog down in a space where coyotes are out?Getting them chipped at the vet doesn't really help only if a person who finds your dog is willing to bring it to a vet who can look up the owner. Depending where you live. In LA (or other parts in Southern California) they are all around the neighborhood. So, the answer is yes.You really think an airtag is gonna track your dog down in a space where coyotes are out?
you are vastly overestimating the Bluetooth range of these things. The iPhone inside someone’s house isn’t tracking down fluffy for you before the coyote has her for dinner.Depending where you live. Years ago, when our first son was but a toddler, we were at the state fair and he disappears in an instant. We were panicked of course and were running around in a mad frenzy looking for him, thinking someone had snatched him. We eventually did find him (he had just seen something that interested him and took off away from us while we were distracted). Anyway, having something like an AirTag on a young child would make such incidents much easier to deal with I'd think.I've got two young kids, if I were to add AirTags to say a necklace or something... i
I as well. As you know, cats are much different than dogs. LOL! 😹I've not had any success with my AirTag on my cat. Because it dangles, she is forever pawing away at it, especially when she is lying down and it sort of sits there right in front of her chin. I looked at the FollowPaw collars but they're for dogs not little kitties. Floris's suggestion of the Wairco one could work, but right now I am waiting for someone to come up with something silicon to hold the AirTag flush to my cat's collar.
