Alarm monitoring

I wish alarms on the Apple Watch had some kind of status or notification that didn't require opening full alarm app.
If an alarm (or indeed timer) is active it would be good to be able to see this easily in notifications or control panel.
Unless of course I am missing something.

I use a complication for that but would also be more happy if there would be some smaller indicator for that purpose.
