My alarm doesn't seem to be working regularly. (Apple Watch 6, WatchOS 8.4.2)
I have volume set high and haptics to max. On at least some of the mornings, like today, I was basically awake and was waiting for the alarm, so I'm confident that the alarm is not sounding and it's not a factor of deep sleep.

Mute is not on, and rebooting solves the problem. Temporarily.

check to see that you do not have focus turned on, either phone, mac or watch

AW7 / 8.4.2

I’ve been having this issue too for at least the last week or so.

The Watch audio (not the earphones) and haptics just did not work at all, regardless of the settings.
Turning the Watch off completely and restarting it does fix the problem at least for now.

I don’t know how long “temporarily” is. ?

This is probably the second time I’ve powered off the Watch since I purchased it (not including software updates).

Ok. Well, now I know how long “temporarily” is.

The issue happened again, but this time I had to turn it off/on a few times, before the sound/haptics would work correctly again.

im not sure if the the newest 8.5.1 update reintroduced the issue or not. Anyways, it is working again right now.

?

I’ve been have this problem for some time but over the last week it had happened twice. I can no longer rely on the watch as an alarm. Sound and haptics just stop working and a restart is required

You can setup your phone as a backup alarm sound to the haptics of the watch.

Not ideal, I understand.

Just in case, it might be worthwhile to go back to the basics:

Note the comment "Manually adjusting the time on your iPhone in Settings to change app behavior, like game timers, isn't recommended and can affect alarms", just in case that applies to you.

Also, there are a few discussions in the Apple Support Community forum that could be helpful, for example:

Thanks for the links. However the fact that the alarm works 90% of the time and then when it fails - all audio and haptics stop until the watch is rebooted suggests this is a bug. I’ve have this issue for several months.

It’s completely random when it breaks. This has been going on for months. Have sent Apple sysdiagnose logs when it happens.

I can’t rely on the AW as an alarm anymore. Im going to get a cheap POS $30 fitness tracker on Amazon with alarm functionality because my $500 AW is too buggy to rely on.

Same thing has been happening to my S7 for months. Maybe once a month or so the sound and haptics just stop working until the watch is rebooted. It's a minor annoyance for me, but for others more reliant on alarms it's a concern.
